Big debate : Metaverse: Dream or nightmare for the healthcare community?
// Hosted by Lionel Buannic, journalist
An imaginary world for some, but very real for others, it raises many questions both for the health sector and for our future lives in general. Let’s remember that AI has already raised the issue of health data collection and not everyone was quite on the same wavelength, particularly in terms of sociology and ethics. But let’s leave that aside for now…
The Metaverse, which Mark Zuckerberg calls the “natural evolution of Facebook and social networks”, is a new kind of virtual space in which each individual is represented by their avatar and can interact with the world around them. Interaction means data and therefore storage and use.
First of all, what is this famous Metaverse? What is it used for? Should it be integrated into healthcare? Why? To what extent? A lot of questions, you may say, but important ones, as the changes could be significant if “Metaverse” were to become more than a buzzword.
