The eHealth Strategy of Toulouse University Hospital Centre:Telehealth as a lever for change in an organisation at the service of the global pathway?
To build its corporate project, Toulouse University Hospital Centre wanted to integrate the question of its digital transition in an ambitious and sustainable way. After talking to all of the players in the University Hospital Centre/Local Area Hospital Grouping and external professional partners and patients, the eHealth initiative team proposed the following actions:
1- An efficient and user-friendly Information System at the service of management and carers
2- Efficient data processing to optimise care and research (using a Big Data platform)
3- A new way of working with users and healthcare correspondents as part of the global Town/Hospital/Home healthcare pathway, by creating a medical coordination/telehealth department. Real implementation examples will be presented for each case.
These actions must not be conducted in parallel, on the contrary they must interact in complementarity to realise their full potential according to a systemic logic. However, only a revised funding effort will allow the interests of the stakeholders to converge towards the necessary logic of a global pathway.
